Furbish Company was founded in 2003 with a deep commitment to sustainable building practices. It is our conviction that sustainable buildings are not simply about saving the environment; they offer greater comfort, healthier indoor air quality, lower operational costs, and more beautiful aesthetics. Furbish Company’s dedication to quality green building combines a willingness to challenge today's conventional thinking with a determination to deliver creative, cost-effective solutions.

We started our venture without constraint on the systems we offered. Furbish Company engineers, installs, and maintains a variety of high-performance retaining walls in small residential jobs, large commercial projects, and highway slope stabilizations. Furbish Company has also successfully implemented straw bale construction, natural plasters, and solar/geothermal HVAC.

In six years, Furbish Company has installed over 500,000 square feet of living roofs, five biofilters, and a variety of vegetated retaining walls throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. We remain open to considering new ideas and approaches, but only if we can assure reliable delivery and appropriate long-term support from our suppliers.

As Furbish Company moves forward, we are very excited to introduce SmartSlope Living Retaining Walls. As a vegetated retaining wall system, SmartSlope transforms hardscape into landscape while providing storm water retention and erosion control. SmartSlope requires less concrete and labor, and greater cost savings.
